Working with our community

We work hard to play our part in the community. We have close links with local Universities, sponsoring students and providing student placements, providing support and opportunities for joint academic and development projects.

Glamorgan University has a renowned IT and Forensic Security faculty we are engaged in several projects with.

Environment and Carbon

Carbon emissions and energy efficiency are key considerations for operating Data  Hosting Centres, and we involved the Carbon Trust in planning our new Centre. Clearstream chose ECO-Cooling evaporative cooling for data suites, which reduces cooling power consumption by up to 80%. This translates to lower power costs for our customers, and also lower carbon emissions.
We also use heat pump” technology to heat offices and other areas, reducing emissions by 66% compared with traditional heating systems.

Innovation and supply chain

We constantly update our services and suppliers so we can offer the latest technical developments. By doing this, Clearstream customers can stay current with market and technology trends.
We also work hard to buy from as high up the supply chain as we can across all of our services (we built our Data Centre), so we can buy as efficiently as possible. We pass these benefits onto our customers, making our pricing highly competitive, and our services excellent value.

Our History

As a network provider

Clearstream has provided Internet connections and Private networks since 2002, acquiring the business of Blue River Systems in 2008. Based near Cardiff in South Wales, we actively manage over 250 business networks across the UK.

We work with BT Wholesale, Virgin Media, MDNX, Western Power, NYNet and others to build high performance and cost effective networks for our customer’s.
We are an Internet Service Provider and hold RIPE and Nominet accreditations, with Points of Presence in South Wales and London Tele-House North.

As a hosting provider

We have provided hosting services since 2006 and now operate our own 7,000sqft Data Centre near Cardiff in South Wales. With in-house skills in virtualisation, server and network monitoring, electrical engineering, and LINUX and Microsoft operating systems, we can provide a full support and management service.

We specialise in supporting IT providers who are moving their services “into the Cloud” and have a range of facilities, pricing models and services to support them.
